Whippoorwill Farm is an ecologically diverse operation with organic practices that provides to local retail, restaurants, and wholesale customers.
Excellent seasonal produce and other products are offered from our extensive vegetable market garden, fruit/berry orchards, Animal Welfare Approved forage fed heritage pork, pastured laying hens, turkeys, grass fed/finished American Wagyu and Black Angus beef, apiary, and seasonal wild harvested goodies such as mushrooms, chestnuts and walnuts.
The 700 acre farm is uniquely diverse in its operation but focuses on one holistic paradigm; that the most important resource on the farm is the soil. Using crop rotation, no-till cover crops, native grasses and forbs, and modified rotational grazing/animal impact, we work to promote a healthy soil structure.
Multiple conservation efforts are implemented by creating transitional zones of “edge habitat” and planting native species to promote habitat throughout 500 acres of preserved woodland. These are implemented year-round to create healthy and natural conditions for the farms’ own feathered and furry residents as well.
