Toll Gate Farm
SATURDAY ONLY
Established circa 1750, Toll Gate Farm began as a toll station along what is now Ben Venue Road, once a colonial route for transporting goods. Over the centuries, it has been a part of the American heritage from Native American to Colonial settlement and the Civil War. And now, Toll Gate is a vineyard producing delicious Virginia wines.
The property has an old Spring house, a pond, and a newly built barn that will on occasion serve as a tasting room, like during the Farm Tour! On the tour you can sample our wines including: Rose, Sparkling Rose, Viognier, Sparkling Viognier, and Cab Franc. Of course you can also purchase wine to take back and enjoy with fond memories of your time in Rappahannock.
We will share the history of the place and talk about our journey into vineyard ownership and wine making! There is lots of green space for families to walk around and spread out a picnic (we do not provide or sell food so please bring your own.)
Dogs are welcome on the grounds too so long as the owners keep an eye on them and clean up after them.
Looking forward to welcoming you to Toll Gate!
